A man is seemingly the last man around and he is searching, searching, searching for a cure to a disease that had slaughtered millions and turned thousands into monsters of the night. I Am Legend.

I Am Legend gets a B...close to a B- than a B+ kind of B. Will Smith is never a disappointment, but his choice in movies sure have been. This is one of the winter movies I listed that were not going to be as interesting as the trailer showed and it was true. It wasn't nearly as interesting as it could have been. It was a bit slow and of course that is to be apparent because he's almost the only person in the entire movie.

They've done this before with Cast Away, except Cast Away worked and this sort of fails. There were clever scenes, yes, with the mannequins and the dog along with funny moments that Will Smith can almost always pull off. There is a scene that would sadden animal lovers. You’ve been warned if you are one of those. The ending was a bit of a let down. It was very climatic at the right point and then instead of lowering itself to a smooth landing it dropped as if it were a bowling ball in the hands of an inexperienced bowler. It left me wanting and when a movie does that it ruins the over all feel it strives to convey---completeness.

I’ve said this time and time again how important the ending is for the entire movie. So I am Legend could have very well been better if the ending gave way to betterment. Instead it did not and it gave way to hollowness which just made everything prior a waste of time. Of course that is a huge source of irritation with me.

The other movies that were made about this as well as the story I have not seen nor read. I cannot compare them to say if this was better or worse. I can say that the idea of I am Legend is slightly interesting. I am very sick of, however, apocalyptic things happening in movies and really sick of them being ground zeroed in New York City. I don’t care how exciting it is to see destruction in New York. It’s growing very boring to me. I saw a poster, at the movie theater, that shows another movie with a damaged Statue of Liberty on it. Seriously, Hollywood, NO MORE!

I am Legend is a decent movie. It had moments that were good and Will Smith doesn’t disappoint. If you are excited about it go and see it. If you have doubts in your mind based on what I’ve said about it and what you think because of the trailers, don’t see it. I predict that next weekend I am Legend will drop to third and that Alvin and the Chipmunks will keep their second place. Because I believe that there are others out there like me that are telling people that I am Legend is not as good as some are stating and those people will be listened to and it will significantly lower the movie’s income.

I am not going to be buying this movie and I will not really want to ever seen this movie again. I was not disappointed by it because my expectations were met, oddly. I just had a bit of hope that maybe I was wrong and what I thought was going to be could be blown out of the water. But instead I was right and the ending was just icing on the cake. Yes this movie really needed a Wilson. No joke.

This was a good movie in my opinion. It was something different, and it almost felt real. It was not like the other movies with the monsters from space, or crazy mythical creatures some how landing on modern day earth and recking havoc. Instead it was New York, in a heavy populated city, where people where happy they found this cure, and taken completely by surprise that it back fired. So now there is this airborne virus and the whole city is flipping out, so of cores hundreds of people are being infected without even knowing it and so on. So moving on we get Will, playing the scientist who's still trying to turn this around for whatever is left of the human race. I was touched when his dog was bitten and he tried to save him even though I'm sure he knew he couldn't, and the next day when he went into the video store to talk to the manikin, at first was a little odd, but when i thought about it, I don't think anyone can truly understand what its like to be completely alone like that. In the end of the movie i was glad that things finely seemed to work out and finding the antidote and all, and that there really actually was a colony some place.

i am legend, was an ok movie, there were parts in the movie that were really great, but then some parts that really didnt make that much sense to the plot of the movie. Will smith who is in the movie, gave a great performance in the role, which was very well done. His character stayed behind, and tried to figure out a cure for a virus that was in the city, so everyone would stop dying, and so the could return back there homes.
At the end of the movie i was very disappointed in the ending, it was like the ran out of time and just quickly put something together, it didnt look tha finshed, it should of shown if they all finally moved back there, and if the had grown from the experience.
Apart from the ending, it was a very good movie, the just need to do something about that ending, becuase it left you wondering about what had happened next and everything.

I already previously submitted a review but over some thought, I have decided to submit a new improved one.

First of i extremely enjoyed this movie, my favourite part about were all the links to religion. For example the butterfly poster during beginning of the movie, there is a poster with the word "God still loves us" and "Do we still love God?" Also there is a picture of a butterfly.

Also Dr Neville’s daughter Marley says "Look Daddy it's a butterfly" and makes a butterfly motion with her hands once in the car and once in the helicopter.

During the end of the movie, The Alpha male zombie makes a butterfly cracked shape, also as Dr Neville looks at Anna, he sees the Butterfly tattoo on her neck.

I enjoy the way this all links the God and belief, I found it really moving.

What I also found moving was the fact that unlike most movies, This one included sacrifice and a slight Reality. In that sort of situation, people die, for example Sam the dog. That was extremely Sam, and Those who got into the movie, felt the pain and sadness that the Character would've felt when he had to choke the dog to death.

This movie also produced other emotions from it’s watchers, For example fear. The scenes where he is close to getting captured by the Infected , and certain scenes made me giggle, for example the last man on earth for three years will lead you to lose your proper mentality. The way Dr Neville places the manikins around in order to remove the feeling of loneliness, and the conversations with his dog I found quite amusing.

Overall, in my opinion the movie was extremely moving and powerful, despite the odd few glitches. Nothing is perfect, However I believe this was extremely close.
